November 17th, 2009

Today I am looking for lower high and lower low from yesterday. Also I am looking to fill the morning gap from yesterday.

  1. I will be the first one to say that around 9:53 AM would be the top for today. Today SPY has a great chance to drop back down below 110 today.
The SPY and QQQQ had closed the morning gap just now.

  2. Financials are weak today (again). thank you Meredith W.

  3. JDT, from now on, listen to her. Remember what she said about GS and she was right about it.

  5. trying to take them higher now. lots of strength. gold stocks need to roll over, soon.

  6. the fact that we closed above 110 on SPY yesterday has me worried. may have to cover at higher highs today!

  7. Fed to pull back on length of Credit from 90 days to 28 days. starting take away liquitity. that's why we got a quick drop. hope it holds

  8. GLD helping confirm sell off, finally.

  9. russel 2000 did not make new highs in surge past few weeks. TZA is 3Xshort etf for small cap stocks. imo, this has highest probability of beating market on downside in future.

  10. i closed at .30 gain on spxu.. still looking for further downside, but expecting a bounce to enter short again as it might roll over

    we shall see

  11. Uh,oh. GLD hitting highs. time for the jam job higher?

  12. the last two gap n go moves on the SnP did not fill the the gap the next day and SnP continued higher. Are we gonna get three in a row? I sure hope not, seems too predictable to me.

  13. just bought TBT with stop below todays low. trying to mix it up a bit, as my shorts are getting ready to be squeezed

  14. back in spxu@37.75

mental stop at todays high 111.23

  15. The volume for QQQQ and SPY are below average.

    ReplyDelete
  16. gcl, so we can expect a jam job higher into the close???

  17. Remember 111.00 is part of 1.5 point trend move for SPY. 105, 106.5, 108, 109.5 and 111.

  18. blah.. looked like i had a .24 gain in spxu before it reversed ..

  20. Watch this afternoon how specialists will take this market down.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I sure hope so, cause I am still short. also, SRS is showing the most strength of all my positions.

  22. a friend of mine had his SPY puts called away from him at the days high.

  23. big volume spike in UUP right here

    ReplyDelete
  24. BAS, bummer, did his acct. value get too low or what. that sucks, especially if we go down hard this afternoon. AAPL hitting lows of day

    ReplyDelete
  25. That is why specialists and brokerage firms were working together to weed out as much money as possible from small investors such as BAS mentioned about SPY puts. Never invest with margin. Very dangerous game.

    ReplyDelete
  26. MS and GS hitting lows of day! can we get some damn downward momentum. c'mon, lets see some red

    ReplyDelete
  27. GCL, who's to say specialists don't take this market much higher into close? we are treading water at this level for too long.

  28. JDT, SPY have an unfinished business to do to fill two gaps. One from yesterday morning and another from last week on Monday. All I am saying is that we will see SPY hitting 108 again in the near term.

    ReplyDelete
  29. SPY had finished the head and should in the last 2 hours. 111 is the neckline. If it breaks below it, SPY is going down.

    ReplyDelete
  30. thanks for head n shoulder info, did not see that today

    ReplyDelete
  31. Today action is to lose some premiums on the options before the options expire this Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, it's a F'd up day, as far as I am concerned. bs moves up and down. total indecision

    ReplyDelete
  33. gcl, does yesterdays volume play into your thoughts about a short term top (in addition to gaps)

    ReplyDelete
  34. JDT, the volume will get less and less due to Thanksgivings holiday coming up. So from now on take slightly below average volume as average volume.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I was referring to the fact that volume appeared to be fairly hight yesterday in SPY. this has been like water torture watching this market today

    ReplyDelete
  36. well that didn't work out into the close.

    maybe next time.
