Sorry for the delay. It is work related that I couldn't post it in the morning.

  1. unbelievable, was that the low for the day. another shitty number and market goes straight up. means more stimulus, more bailouts, more low interest rates. market does not look ready to go down, we need a quick reversal or this thing is gonna run all day. Gotta love BAILOUT NATION

  2. Well, the market opened slightly higher and it also bounced off from yesterday low.

  3. btw, long SPXU, SRS, and TZA. small caps are best bet short right now imo. they are underperforming

  4. matt, are you staying short or getting out??

    ReplyDelete
  5. this market if f'n dangerous. huge, sporadic moves. most indicators showed a further sell off today, we get crap confidence number, and its off to the races on the upside. on a friday to boot. wtf?

    ReplyDelete
  6. any bets on a 200 plus up day on the Dow today??

    ReplyDelete
  7. JDT, do you mean close over 200 points or intraday hit 200 points?

    ReplyDelete
  8. financials are still a bit weak, but this sux. I was "hoping" for a nice sell-off today. god forbid they take down the market more than one day.

    ReplyDelete
  9. so, gcl, does market follow financial down today or do financials recover and and take market even higher??

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ok, it is me again. Is that all they've got. here's to hoping they are sucking in the last of the "buy the dipsters" and they give them a good bitch slapping.

  11. JDT, the market will go back down to retest 108 again. This runup from this morning is a retracement backup to the resistance level of 1:00 PM from yesterday. USO is breaking down. VIX made inverse head and shoulder pattern. As long as SPY and QQQQ don't make higher high, we are ok.

  12. ok, sounds good, but dollar and gold are not cooperating today

    ReplyDelete
  13. well, at least i am not short gold today. sheesh. an afternoon sell off sure would be sweeet. I'm not feeling it though

    ReplyDelete
  14. Staying short, I got DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOm next week.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Euro has topped against the dollar too.

  16. great. only problem is I am day trading this shit, so an afternoon sell-off to kick start your doom week would be nice:)

  17. i'm averaged in SPXU @ 36.25.

  19. wow, i honestly just do not get it anymore. absolutely brutal. I realize we have not taken out yesterdays high (yet), but this is getting ridiculous.

  20. this thing needs to top out right here or shorts are screwed. bouncing up against three day downtrend resistance line on SnP fifteen minute. I will give it the hour and that is it. 50 more minutes of pain

  21. Yeah, it retraced all the way back up where it broke down yesterday morning. I am going out on a limb, you might see a complete reversal from here.
Right now the market is up almost 100 points. By end of today, the market could lose 100 points. This is a tough call. Again SPY will retest 108 again.

    ReplyDelete
  22. gcl, today, more than ever, I sure hope you are right. let her rip to the downside or I book another f'n loser.

    ReplyDelete
  23. JDT, I promised you that SPY will retest 108 again, maybe next week if it not today.

That is why I am holding my short for CLF and AEM.
I know for sure AEM will retest 55 again and CLF 35 or below.

  24. Right now the market is trading in a very small narrow range. The market is calm before the big storm.

    ReplyDelete
  25. yeah, the storm straight thru resistance and to new highs. something aint right. technicals pointed down, news is bad, market defies all logic and goes straight up. market will do whatever hurts the most people. I guess most people are betting against this rally. the volume on the lows today was huge and I should have known to cover and get out.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes, technically, the market should go down. Remember this, the specialists are here to fool investors of getting in and out. Today runup is bogus. It is trapping the longs and squeezing the shorts.

    ReplyDelete
  27. They are doing a bang up job of it today. I agree, the longs are getting sucked in, I just hope there are more people leaning long, as this is what will cause a cascade of selling.

    ReplyDelete
  28. gcl, the specialists are not here to "fool" you, they are here to steal your money:)

    ReplyDelete
  29. The specialists and the brokerage work together. I read an article about "dark pooled". Couple days ago, I mentioned about a strategy about buying and selling the same stock with two different brokers. That way they can't steal my money.

    ReplyDelete
  30. For example, if I buy and short SPY on two different brokers yesterday. The market shot up to midday. I don't lose or profit from it. Now if I sell the SPY at midday that I bought from it, I profited it. Eventually the short transaction will break even and made profit from it when the market is going back down.

  32. c'mon GS, hit a new low, you pos

    ReplyDelete
  33. thank you GS, financials helping our cause today. could not rally financials

  34. Was this an option influenced kind of day?

Is there anything to show how options affect stocks?

I think these kind of strange days are related to options destruction.

  35. JDT, if you lose money on the market, think about that woman without eyes, nose and a mouth. It could get much worse. It could be you. Losing physical appearance is permanent, but losing money is not. Money is man made. It can recover over time.

  36. gcl, yes, sometimes it is easy to lose sight of what is important in life. I am very happy and lucky to have my health.

not sure where we close today, but great call on sell-off. I have been trading poorly and beginning to question my trades. thanks for the support today

  37. My dad was poor when he was little. He never think about money at all in his life. He is happy.
My mom came from wealthy family. My mom married him because my dad doesn't have the ego like most men do. By the way my dad is 75 now. Sometimes money is evil.

  38. Funny thing about GCL mentioning we bounced off 108.75 (yesterdays low), is that we BARELY went over yesterdays high.

    110.09 today..yesterday 110.00

I can't hold this gain over the weekend for a bullish type monday.

  41. We need SPY and QQQQ to close below where its opened today.

    SPY opened at 109.31.
    QQQQ opened at 42.78.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Typo on the QQQQ opened at 42.78. It should be 43.78.

    ReplyDelete
  43. They take this back up to 109.65 area for SPY. Then it will reverse back down.

    ReplyDelete
  44. ok i bailed finally

  47. Today action on SPY and QQQQ is daily head and should pattern. The right shoulder never got completed. It went out of time.

I am expecting SPY will hit 108 next week.

    Have a great weekend.
